Opened in September of 1988, the Blackhawk Museum is dedicated to the pride, beauty, and craftsmanship inherent in the legacy of the automobile. The museum is devoted to the people of Contra Costa and hosts a wide variety of events every year. The museum supports a wide assortment of permanent galleries including exhibits on automobiles, Africa, China, Old West, and the World of Nature.

Changemaker Speaker Series

The museum offers a Changemaker Speaker Series, which features inspiring individuals who are making a difference in the world. The upcoming speakers include:

October 26th: THE SECRET LIVE OF WHALES by Brian Skerry, underwater photographer. In this immersive experience, Brian takes you on a mesmerizing journey into the intricate lives of five different whale species: belugas, humpbacks, narwhals, orcas, and sperm whales. November 2nd: THE MAKING OF APERTURE WINES by Jesse & Andy Katz. Follow the exploits of winemaking achievement including the first 100-point wines in history and be named wine maker of the year multiple times and the history of Aperture Cellars.
