Join us as we explore 180 million years of geologic history on Mount Diablo. What does the summit of Mount Diablo and the Marin Headlands have in common? How is Sentinel Rock in Rock City related to Yosemite’s El Capitan?

Find the answers we car caravan on North and South Gate Roads to visit different areas with fascinating geology and take short hikes to see rocks, landforms, and fossils. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.
