His music is a combination of Blues, Soul, R & B and Funk with a dash of rhythmic syncopation that he calls "Blues for the 21st Century". 

Over the years, Oden has appeared with: Jimmy Reed, Pee Wee Crayton, Big Mama Thornton, Mike Bloomfield, Buddy Ace, Bill Withers, Lurrie Bell, John Primer, Little Joe Blue, Chris Cain, Percy Mayfield, Craig Horton, JJ Malone, Troyce Keys, Cool Papa Sadler, High Tide Harris, Preston Shannon, Fat Harry and the Fuzzy Licks,  Linwood Taylor Jr., Sonny Rhodes, Earl King, Johnny Adams, Pine Top Perkins , Willie Big Eye Smith and Bill Branch to mention a few.
