Catia Machado and the Brazil East Bay Ensemble-BEBE- is a sextet consisting of experienced players with roots in Brazil, New York, and the East Bay. Catia Machado, the lead singer, began her music studies in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 10 and has performed widely in South, Central, and North America. Trained as a music therapist, she promotes healing through music. Beyond Bossa Nova they play danceable, sophisticated Brazilian Jazz that reflects the wide range of Brazilian Music from romantic to funky.
